Wiseberg Module 1: Laying foundations
Perhaps you have noticed that some people have very strange ideas about the life, about us and about how to do things. It can be hard to understand them and even harder to relate to them. But it is also true that our ideas can appear similarly incomprehensible to others. In this program we will dig deeper to understand how we perceive and relate to this world.
W1.1 Growing in awareness. The world around us is not what it appears to be. To do well we need to get the right picture of the reality or else.
W1.2 Mastering the dark matter: culture. You can’t escape it. You can be either influenced by existing culture, or you can consciously create wisdom-based culture.
W1.3 Getting to the bottom: how life-organizing stories organize our lives. They do organize our lives, and unless we write our own stories, we will be influenced and led by stories written by others without us even noticing it.
W1.4 “The Good Design 101”. This is the beginning of the promised wisdom. It will build the foundation on which your wisdom can grow and prosper. How high you build will depend only on you.
Wiseberg Module 2: “The Good Design” for people
When asked to name the single biggest problem in their company, almost everyone gives the same answer: “People”. Unfortunately, it is true. It can be hard to understand others. It can be even harder to work with them or to lead them. So many don’t act rationally. So many are not free. So many seem not to be able to enjoy their life. In this program you will learn in depth who we truly are, what drives and guides our lives, and what is wrong with us.
W2.1 You are good enough. We are wonderfully make and the most important things in this life are given to us as free gifts. Receive them or toil for them, it is up to us.
W2.2 Living rich lives: in the network. We all are interconnected, we influence others and are influenced by others. To neglect or underestimate the complexity of any human community is to lose your chances to understand and influence it.
W2.3 Living meaningful lives: places of responsibility. They make our lives different. Meaningful. Purposeful. Joyful. When properly understood they change the way we see people and our roles in this life, they change how we live and work.
W2.4 Striving for better: what is wrong with us. Are you honest enough to admit what it is? We can either live in denial our heads buried in sand, or face reality and act wisely. We can do better. We can be better.
Wiseberg Module 3: “The Good Design” for work, business & rest
This is true. We live to work and not vice versa. And, by the way, these are great news. Imagine that you had to suffer and waste forty to sixty hours of your week so that only you could live for the remaining ten to twenty. The way we look at work can radically transform and enrich our careers and lives.
W3.1 Work and business. Appears that it is much more than we would think it is. It is more important, more meaningful and more complex. This is where you are a part of something much greater, where your potential is developed and grows.
W3.2 Hardship at work. But why is it sometimes so hard and burdensome? The answer is rather simple. There are things that we can change and things that we can’t, but it begins with knowing what the core problem is.
W3.3 Work & business as calling. It is one of your main places of responsibility. This is where you begin to change the world one accomplished task a time.
W3.4 Sabbath rest. It is not about ceasing your activities. It is so much more. It is the flipside of work. You can only be as good at your work as well rested you are. You need to be intentional about your rest.
Wiseberg Module 4: “The Good Design” for organizations
We all live and operate in communities. Often in organized communities. Sometimes we may need to lead these communities. However, any organization is more that just a sum of people in it. It has a life on its own, guided by principles deeply built into us. In this program we will learn how to get on top of things in your organization.
W4.1 How to think about organizations. For too long management theoreticians have looked at organizations mechanically. We are coming to recognize that they are much better understood and lead not as machines, but as living organisms.
W4.2 Order and harmony. Contemporary self-centred ideologies have really messed things up and caused chaos. To recover the beauty and blessings of order and hierarchy is to bring peace and harmony into your organization.
W4.3 Relationships. Equal, but not identical. With the same dignity, but with different functions. How to cultivate relationships in organization that are fair and functional and work for everyone.
W4.4 Conflicts. They are almost inevitable. But what a difference it makes what you do with them. Rightly understood, they can become the source that powers your movement towards the perfection.
Wiseberg Module 5: “The Good Design” for leadership & transformation
If your learning doesn’t lead to changes in your life, or in the life of your organization, then what is its purpose? This program is about making it happen. In four previous programs you have learned about “The Good Design”, now let us give you tools how to work transformation in your current situation, leading your organization towards the perfection.
W5.1 What is leadership? It isn’t simply about being able to lead. Wise leaders know much more: [a] how to read and evaluate their current situation, [b] what the Good Design is, and [c] they have efficient tools that can set their organizations on the path of wisdom.
W5.2 From diagnoses to “The Good Design”. This may be hard. Words ‘organization’ and ‘changes’ describe the very opposite realities. This course will explore how to make changes happen, what steps need to be considered, what elements are involved and what attitudes can help you to get where you want to be.
W5.3 In the beginning was the Word. Indeed, it is so simple. Word. It is as simple as it is profound. The deepest and most efficient transformations are enacted by means of language, stories and rituals. Being equipped with the right tools, you can become a creator of a new reality for you and your organization.
W5.4 Vocational culture. This is the answer to and the final destination of our quest. Organization that functions the way it is supposed to. Organization, where people keep surprizing one another not only with tasks well performed, but with attitude and aspirations that way surpass the expected.
